IC
Licensing · Inside and Outside

Two licensing surfaces. One IP house.

Inside IHG, IC licenses to IVG and IEG for resort development and operations. Outside IHG, IC selectively licenses universes for media, gaming, merchandise, and partnerships.

IP licensed across the IHG family.

Within the IHG ecosystem, IC licenses to Immersive Ventures Group for resort development and to Immersive Experiences Group for operations. Each property pays a licensing fee against the underlying IP for as long as it operates under that brand.

This is the foundation of IC's recurring revenue: every IHG-owned resort, in every territory, generates royalty back to IC. The IP catalogue compounds. The cash flow is durable.

Internal Licensing Flow
IC
IP Owner

Develops and owns the universe, characters, visual identity, and narrative.

IVG
Licensee — Development

Licenses IC IP to develop resort real estate, attractions, and environments.

IEG
Licensee — Operations

Licenses IC IP to operate the resort — cast, costuming, interpretation, F&B brand expression.

ITG
Platform Partner

Deploys IC media and narrative assets through the IMMERSE™ and SYNKRON™ platforms.

Selective. Strategic. On-brand.

Outside the IHG ecosystem, IC selectively licenses universe rights for media adaptations, interactive entertainment, merchandise, and brand extensions. We are not a mass-licensing operation. Every partner is vetted, every category is scoped, and every license carries IC creative approval rights.

The goal is not maximum coverage. The goal is to extend each universe with partners whose audience, quality bar, and brand values protect the long-term integrity of the world.

Media & Publishing

Streaming series, film, animation, novels, graphic novels, podcasts, audio drama. Per-universe rights are available with creative oversight from IC.

Interactive & Gaming

Console, PC, mobile, VR, and tabletop. We license universe rights with shared writers' room access to keep canon clean across media.

Merchandise & Apparel

Retail, collectibles, fashion collaborations, limited drops. Quality-controlled by IC; production handled by approved manufacturing partners.

Live Experiences (Non-Resort)

Touring shows, pop-up activations, brand experiences. Approved only when the live experience does not compete with on-property guest journeys.

Sponsorship & Co-Branding

Selected co-branding partnerships with brands whose values, audience, and quality match the universe’s tone.

Themed Hospitality

Hotels, restaurants, and F&B operators outside the IHG resort footprint can license universe-themed treatments under tight standards.

Common questions, answered up front.

The questions partners ask most often, organized by topic. If your question isn't here, send it to licensing@immersivecollectives.com.

Rights & Exclusivity
What categories can I license? +

Media & publishing, interactive/gaming, merchandise & apparel, sponsorship/co-branding, themed hospitality, and select live-experience formats. Categories available vary per universe — Frontier Crossing is the most heavily protected; Redline Circuit is the most open.

Can I get an exclusive? +

Yes — exclusivity is available by category and territory, priced accordingly. Most exclusives carry a minimum guarantee and a use-it-or-lose-it performance trigger.

What territories do you license in? +

Worldwide, structured as regional grants (North America, EMEA, LATAM, APAC, MENA). Sub-territorial grants (e.g., a single country) are available for specific categories.

Do you retain creative control? +

Always. Every license carries IC creative approval rights at defined gates. We never license a universe without ongoing creative oversight.

Timing
How long does a license take to sign? +

Eight to sixteen weeks from initial inquiry to signed license, depending on category and territory. Straightforward merch deals close fastest; multi-region media deals take longest.

When can I ship product or release media? +

Depends on the category. Apparel and accessories can be at retail within four to six months. Games and long-form media follow their own production timelines under IC creative approval.

How long is a typical license term? +

Two to five years for merchandise. Five to ten years for media adaptations. Longer terms available with extension options based on performance.

Commercial Terms
How do royalty rates work? +

Rates vary by category, exclusivity, territory, and term. Typical structure: an upfront advance against a royalty on net sales, with minimum guarantees per period. Specific numbers are shared under NDA.

Is there an upfront cost? +

Yes — every license carries an advance against royalties. Advances scale with category size, exclusivity, and territory. Smaller categories and shorter terms carry smaller advances.

Do you audit? +

Annual royalty reporting is required. IC reserves the right to audit at our cost, with audit cost recovery if a material undercount is found.

Creative Approvals
What needs IC approval? +

Anything that uses the universe, the visual identity, the characters, or the brand. Creative concepts, key art, scripts, packaging, marketing campaigns, and any cross-media tie-ins all pass through approval gates.

How fast is approval turnaround? +

Standard turnaround is five business days for routine reviews, fifteen for major creative milestones (concept art, scripts, key art). Expedited paths available for live campaigns.

What happens if approval is rejected? +

IC provides specific feedback and resubmission criteria. Most rejections become approvals within one iteration. Repeated material rejections can trigger contract review.

Universes & IP
Which universes are available for external licensing today? +

Redline Circuit (most open), Blackwater Cove (selective, in development), Neon District (selective, concept stage). Frontier Crossing is largely reserved for internal IHG entities with a small slate of pre-approved external partners.

Can I license a single character or location instead of the full universe? +

Yes — sub-IP grants are available. Pricing reflects the strategic importance of the asset within the universe and the impact on the universe's broader canon.

Will my partner deal restrict future IC licenses in the same category? +

Only if you take an exclusive. Non-exclusive licenses allow IC to grant similar rights to other partners in the same category and territory.

Onboarding & Process
What do you need from me up front? +

A short brief: your company, the universe(s) of interest, the category, the territory, the timeline, and any relevant prior work. We'll respond within five business days with next steps and an NDA.

Do I need to sign an NDA? +

Yes — IC commercial terms and the full IP catalogue are shared only under NDA. NDAs are mutual and standard form.

Who is my contact during the license? +

Every active license is assigned an IC partnership lead and a creative reviewer. The partnership lead owns commercial; the reviewer owns creative approvals.
